Diploma in Pastoral Ministry

This one year programme aims to prepare people for ministry in the Christian Community. In today’s rapidly changing world those who minister find themselves faced with new and challenging situations. Pastoral Studies at Milltown Institute is well positioned to equip people with the skills to respond to these challenges, helping them grow as pastoral people and to acquire skills that will enhance their ability to care more compassionately and effectively. The programme stresses learning through experience. Each week participants give time in a pastoral situation that reflects their personal interest or future aspirations. Placements are arranged in consultations with the students and include: Parish Work, Hospital Ministry, Community Centres. Ministry to the disabled, Prisons, and other suitable ministries. Each participant has a placement tutor and receives individual mentoring.
