There is a high degree of interest in the Bible, its world and times, as well as its potential for understanding the Christian tradition today. This Higher Diploma meets the needs of those people who would like to take further their understanding of the Jewish and Christian Scriptures. The Higher Diploma qualifies the student to enter the MA in Biblical Studies programme.
The programme has the following specific aims:
• to promote an appreciation of the world of the Bible, its language, culture, religion and archaeology;
• to impart knowledge of research resources, as well as training in the research skills appropriate to this level of work;
• to offer the student a choice of post-graduate courses appropriate to her/his interests.
