Adult Education Diploma in Spirituality 2012-2013
The Adult Education Diploma in Spirituality is a two-year part-time evening programme run by Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy. The award is accredited by Milltown Institute.
The programme is run on Monday evenings from 7.00–9.30pm over two years. There are two semesters in each year. Each year also includes six Saturday workshops from 10.00am-4.00pm.
In each year of the programme students are introduced to fifteen modules which deal with key issues in contemporary spirituality. Teaching involves a combination of input from a range of experienced lecturers. Integration of course material is facilitated by journaling and group discussion. There is no year end or final exam. Throughout the course of the two years students submit learning journals and short reaction papers.

• Facilitate an exploration of the student’s lived spirituality; deepen, inform and
enliven the student’s spirit through the study of spirituality within a Christian context.
• Develop skills of reflection, and discernment, in the student’s lived experience.
• Provide a forum for discussion and debate in the class group setting.
Course Requirements
Integration of the course material is facilitated by group discussion, response papers, and learning journals. Enrichment is gleaned from interacting with, and sharing with, other members of the group. The process of writing both their response papers, and their learning journals, greatly enhances the awareness of students of their experience of the course.
In semester one of each year, students shall submit two response papers and one learning journal.
In semester two of each year, students shall submit two response papers and two learning journals.
